Post-event survey template
A post-event survey has about a day before attendees stop caring. This template is built to be finished in two minutes on a phone in the taxi home: an overall rating, one table for the parts of the event, and the question organisers actually plan around — would you come again.
The survey beside this text is live. Fill it in and submit it — it validates exactly as it would for a real respondent, and saves nothing.
A closing date that enforces itself
After the date you set, the survey stops accepting answers and the page says so. You do not have to remember to take the link down.
A matrix that fits a phone
The event’s parts are rated in a single table. On a narrow screen the table scrolls sideways within its own frame rather than shrinking the text or breaking the page.
A follow-up for people who would not return
Anyone answering “No” to attending again is asked why. That is the smallest group and the most valuable one, and nobody else sees the question.
No card required.

Live previewHow to use this template
5 steps in the editor. Nothing here needs a paid plan.
- Press “Use this template” and rename the matrix rows to the parts of your event — venue, speakers, catering, schedule, networking.
- Replace the session list with your own agenda so “best session” is a choice, not a spelling test.
- Put the link on the closing slide and in the thank-you email sent the same evening.
- Under Settings → Advanced set the survey to stop a week after the event; later answers are remembered impressions, not experience.
- On the Results tab, the “would you attend again” split and the lowest-rated matrix row are your two headline findings.

What goes wrong with this survey
Specific to this template, not general advice about surveys.
Sending it a week later
By then you hear from the delighted and the furious. The middle, which is most of your audience, has forgotten.
Asking about things attendees could not judge
Virtual attendees cannot rate catering. If the event was hybrid, leave the matrix not required so they can skip rows, or split it into two surveys.
A free-text session question
People misremember session titles. A list of choices gives you countable votes; a text box gives you forty spellings.
Not asking about next time
Ratings describe the event you ran. “What should we add next year?” is the only question that helps plan the next one.
Questions about this survey
When should I send a post-event survey?
The same day, ideally before people leave. Once attendees are back at work fewer of them answer, and the detail goes with them.
How long should a post-event survey be?
Under three minutes — around six to eight questions. This template has seven, of which five are a tap rather than typing.
Can I show the results to attendees?
Yes. Settings → Voting & results lets you publish results always, after someone has answered, or once the survey closes. Written comments are never shown on the public results page — only the charts.
Can I collect feedback per session?
This template asks for the single best session. For a rating of every session, add a matrix with one row per session — or run one short survey per session and share each link at the end of its slot.
