Is Votense the right survey tool for you?
Every survey tool is good at something. This page says plainly what Votense is built for, where it stops, and what kind of tool to reach for when your need is on the other side of that line.
Side-by-side comparisons
Each page puts the two products feature by feature, shows the competitor’s published prices with the date we checked them, and says where the other tool is the better pick.
- Votense vs Google FormsLive results and one-vote-per-person, without a Google account.
- Votense vs DoodleGroup polls and votes with live results — and an honest line on scheduling.

What Votense does
- Live results
- A results page per poll or survey that updates as answers arrive, with charts chosen per question type.
- Live quizzes
- Host a quiz on a big screen: players join on phones with a PIN, answer against a countdown, earn points for speed and climb a leaderboard. Or share it as a self-marking link.
- Ballot integrity
- One vote per browser, per network or per signed-in account, enforced on the server with a conditional write.
- Survey question types
- Matrix grid, ranking, Net Promoter Score, Likert scale and constant sum, plus the standard inputs.
- Conditional logic
- Show a question when one earlier answer matches (“is” or “is not”).
- Scheduling
- An opening time, a closing date and a response cap.
- No-signup poll maker
- One question, a voting link and a results link, with no account.
- Your data out
- CSV export, a webhook to your own endpoint, and delivery to chat tools and databases.
Where another tool is the better choice
None of these is on a roadmap promise. If you need one of them today, Votense is the wrong tool for that job.
Respondent panels or audience buying
Votense collects answers from people you send the link to. It does not recruit respondents, sell access to a panel, or balance a sample for you. If you need a representative sample you do not already have, you need a research platform that sells one.
Branching by score ranges or multiple conditions
A condition here matches one answer to one earlier question. There is no “show if the score is 6 or lower”, no AND/OR between conditions, and no skip-to-page. A dedicated research tool with a logic builder is the better fit for a heavily branched questionnaire.
Instant-runoff or other formal election counting
A ranked vote reports average rank and first-place counts. It does not eliminate candidates round by round, and one-vote-per-browser is not voter authentication. For a binding election use software built for elections; you can still export every ranked ballot as CSV.
Cross-tabulation and statistical testing
Results are charted per question. Comparing one question against another, weighting, and significance tests are not built in — export the CSV and use a spreadsheet or a statistics package.
Quotas per segment
A survey can stop after a total number of responses, not after a number of responses from each segment.
Calendar scheduling
A meeting poll finds the time most people can make. It does not read calendars, convert time zones or send invitations.
Multi-language surveys, offline collection, SSO
A survey is written in one language, needs a connection to submit, and sign-in is by Google or GitHub.
Pricing and limits
| Plan | Price | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | 10 surveys, 100 responses per survey |
| Basic | $20/month | 100 surveys, 2000 responses per survey |
| Advanced | $40/month | 200 surveys, 5000 responses per survey, 3 seats |
Response limits are per survey for the life of the survey, not per month. Every survey question type, live results, voting limits, scheduling, conditional logic, embedding, CSV export, webhooks and bot protection are on the free plan. Paid plans raise the limits and add connected apps, email notifications, file uploads, password protection, your own logo, spam quarantine and organizations. See the full plan table.
Questions about fit
- What is Votense best at?
- Questions where seeing the result matters as much as collecting it: polls and votes with live results and one vote per person, and short surveys — NPS, satisfaction, feedback, prioritization — where the score should be calculated for you.
- When should I use a different tool?
- When you need to buy respondents, branch a long questionnaire on score ranges or combined conditions, run a formal election count, or do statistical analysis inside the tool. Votense does none of those, and this page lists each gap.
- How much does Votense cost?
- The free plan includes 10 surveys or polls at 100 responses each. Basic is $20 a month for 100 surveys at 2000 responses each, and Advanced is $40 a month for 200 at 5000. The response limit is per survey for its lifetime, not per month.
- How current are the competitor prices?
- Each comparison page shows the date its competitor pricing was read from that vendor’s own pricing page, and links to it. Prices change; check the vendor’s page before you decide.
