Votense vs Kahoot!
Both run the same kind of live game: questions on a big screen, players answering on their phones with a PIN, points for speed and a leaderboard between rounds. Kahoot! has far more game modes, question types and classroom features. Votense covers the core game on its free plan with no per-license price, and adds polls and surveys in the same account.

Pricing: Votense vs Kahoot!
Kahoot! pricing below was read from their own pricing page on 2026-10-03. Prices change without notice, so treat this as a snapshot and check their page before deciding.
Votense
| Plan | Price | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | 10 surveys, 100 responses per survey |
| Basic | $20/month | 100 surveys, 2000 responses per survey |
| Advanced | $40/month | 200 surveys, 5000 responses per survey, 3 seats |
Response limits are per survey for the life of the survey, not per month. Every survey question type, live results, voting limits, scheduling, webhooks, Telegram delivery, embedding, CSV export and bot protection are on the free plan — every public survey is checked for automated submissions the same way, free or paid; file uploads, password protection, email notifications, your own logo, connected apps (Slack, Discord, Teams, Google Chat, Airtable, Notion), and keeping a submission that fails the bot check for review instead of refusing it are on the paid plans.

Kahoot! 360 (work) plans, one license each. Kahoot!’s school plans, on a separate page, include a free tier with a 40-participant limit. Votense prices per account, not per license, and live games are on its free plan.
Kahoot! pricing pageOne price for the whole team: Basic is $20 a month flat, not per person.
Billed annually it is $200 a year — $16.67 a month, 17% less than paying monthly. Advanced is $40 a month, or $33.33 a month billed annually.
Basic covers 3 organizations of 2 seats each — 6 seats, which is up to 4 people once you count that you hold a seat in each organization you own. Advanced raises that to 15 seats across 5 organizations, up to 11 people.
Adding someone does not change the bill: the price is the plan, not the head count. Whether that beats a given rival depends on how they charge for seats — check their pricing page, which every comparison here links to, rather than a claim on this one.
When Kahoot! is the better choice
Every comparison should have this section. If it does not, you are reading an advert.
The game itself is the point
Team mode, game variants, puzzles, sliders, images and video, music — Kahoot! is a richer game. Votense runs one clean game format with text questions.
You want questions written for you
Kahoot! lists AI question generation, including from a PDF. Votense has no AI features; you write or adapt the questions.
More than 1,000 players
A Votense live game takes up to 1,000 players on Advanced. Kahoot!’s larger plans list up to 2,000 participants, and more with onboarding.
A full classroom platform
Courses, learning paths, a large library of ready-made kahoots and student progress tracking are Kahoot! strengths Votense does not try to match.
When Votense is the better choice
A live quiz without a license
Host live games for up to 50 players on the free plan — Kahoot!’s free school tier allows 40. Paid plans are a flat price per account — Basic is $20 a month — rather than per presenter license.
Quizzes, polls and surveys in one place
The same account runs the Friday quiz, the team poll and the quarterly engagement survey, each with its own results page — NPS, matrix and ranking questions included free.
A self-marking quiz anyone can take
Share a quiz as a link: each person sees their score and, if you allow it, the right answer and your explanation for every question they missed.
