Votense vs SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey is a mature survey platform with deep analysis features and its own respondent panel. Votense covers the core of what most teams send — NPS, satisfaction, engagement and feedback surveys — with live results, and prices by plan rather than by user.

Only things that are stable and checkable. Anything that moves — prices, volume limits — is in the dated table below rather than stated here as though it were permanent.

Pricing: Votense vs SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey pricing below was read from their own pricing page on 2026-10-03. Prices change without notice, so treat this as a snapshot and check their page before deciding.

Votense

PlanPriceLimits
FreeFree10 surveys, 100 responses per survey
Basic$20/month100 surveys, 2000 responses per survey
Advanced$40/month200 surveys, 5000 responses per survey, 3 seats

Response limits are per survey for the life of the survey, not per month. Every survey question type, live results, voting limits, scheduling, webhooks, Telegram delivery, embedding, CSV export and bot protection are on the free plan — every public survey is checked for automated submissions the same way, free or paid; file uploads, password protection, email notifications, your own logo, connected apps (Slack, Discord, Teams, Google Chat, Airtable, Notion), and keeping a submission that fails the bot check for review instead of refusing it are on the paid plans.

SurveyMonkey pricing page

One price for the whole team: Basic is $20 a month flat, not per person.

Billed annually it is $200 a year — $16.67 a month, 17% less than paying monthly. Advanced is $40 a month, or $33.33 a month billed annually.

Basic covers 3 organizations of 2 seats each — 6 seats, which is up to 4 people once you count that you hold a seat in each organization you own. Advanced raises that to 15 seats across 5 organizations, up to 11 people.

Adding someone does not change the bill: the price is the plan, not the head count. Whether that beats a given rival depends on how they charge for seats — check their pricing page, which every comparison here links to, rather than a claim on this one.

When SurveyMonkey is the better choice

Every comparison should have this section. If it does not, you are reading an advert.

You need respondents you do not have

SurveyMonkey Audience sells responses from a panel. Votense only collects from people you send the link to.

Your analysis happens inside the survey tool

Cross-tabulation, filtering by segment and statistical significance are SurveyMonkey strengths. Votense charts each question and exports CSV for anything deeper.

You run very large volumes

SurveyMonkey’s plans are built around tens of thousands of responses a year. Votense’s largest published plan is 5,000 responses per survey.

When Votense is the better choice

One price for the team

Basic is $20 a month for the account, covering 3 organizations of 2 seats. A three-person team on SurveyMonkey Team Advantage started at $90 a month, billed annually, when checked on 2026-10-03.

Results people can watch

Every poll and survey has a public results page that refreshes itself every few seconds. You choose who may open it — everyone, people who have voted, everyone once voting closes, or only you — and written answers are never shown on it.

One vote per person, checked on the server

Limit voting to one per browser, per network or per signed-in account. The check is a conditional database write made when the vote arrives, so reloading, clearing a cookie or pressing Vote eight times at once still counts once.

Moving from SurveyMonkey

The common survey shapes are templates already

NPS, customer satisfaction, customer effort, employee engagement, pulse, exit, training feedback, post-event and course evaluation surveys are ready-made templates you can open in the editor.

Question types map one for one

Multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, star rating, matrix, ranking, NPS and open text all exist. Skip logic becomes a condition on the follow-up question; a condition matches one earlier answer.

Historic results stay behind

There is no importer. Export your SurveyMonkey results before cancelling, because Votense starts with an empty response set.

Questions people ask

Is there a cheaper SurveyMonkey alternative for teams?

Votense’s paid plans are a flat price per account — Basic is $20 a month — rather than per user. SurveyMonkey’s Team Advantage was $30 per user per month for at least three users, billed annually, when checked on 2026-10-03.

Does Votense have NPS and matrix questions?

Yes, on every plan including Free: Net Promoter Score with the score calculated, matrix grids, ranking, Likert scales and constant-sum questions.

When is SurveyMonkey the better choice?

When you need to buy respondents, analyse results inside the tool with cross-tabs and significance tests, or collect very large volumes.

Checked against the shipped product on 2026-10-03. The Votense limits above come from the same plan table the product enforces, not marketing rounding.
