Votense vs Mentimeter

Mentimeter is built for presenters: interactive slides, live audience questions, and results shown on the presenter’s screen. Votense is built for polls and surveys that stand on their own — shared by link, embedded, or put on a screen — with results that update live.

Pricing: Votense vs Mentimeter

Mentimeter pricing below was read from their own pricing page on 2026-10-03. Prices change without notice, so treat this as a snapshot and check their page before deciding.

Votense

PlanPriceLimits
FreeFree10 surveys, 100 responses per survey
Basic$20/month100 surveys, 2000 responses per survey
Advanced$40/month200 surveys, 5000 responses per survey, 3 seats

Response limits are per survey for the life of the survey, not per month. Every survey question type, live results, voting limits, scheduling, webhooks, Telegram delivery, embedding, CSV export and bot protection are on the free plan — every public survey is checked for automated submissions the same way, free or paid; file uploads, password protection, email notifications, your own logo, connected apps (Slack, Discord, Teams, Google Chat, Airtable, Notion), and keeping a submission that fails the bot check for review instead of refusing it are on the paid plans.

Mentimeter pricing page

One price for the whole team: Basic is $20 a month flat, not per person.

Billed annually it is $200 a year — $16.67 a month, 17% less than paying monthly. Advanced is $40 a month, or $33.33 a month billed annually.

Basic covers 3 organizations of 2 seats each — 6 seats, which is up to 4 people once you count that you hold a seat in each organization you own. Advanced raises that to 15 seats across 5 organizations, up to 11 people.

Adding someone does not change the bill: the price is the plan, not the head count. Whether that beats a given rival depends on how they charge for seats — check their pricing page, which every comparison here links to, rather than a claim on this one.

When Mentimeter is the better choice

Every comparison should have this section. If it does not, you are reading an advert.

You are presenting

Interactive slides, imported decks, word clouds and a presenter view are Mentimeter’s home ground. Votense has no slides and no presenter mode.

You need audience Q&A

Live audience questions during a talk are a Mentimeter feature with no Votense equivalent.

When Votense is the better choice

No participant cap on the free plan

Mentimeter’s free plan allows 50 participants a month (checked 2026-10-03). A Votense free poll takes 100 responses, however many people that is, on each of 10 polls.

One vote per person, checked on the server

Limit voting to one per browser, per network or per signed-in account. The check is a conditional database write made when the vote arrives, so reloading, clearing a cookie or pressing Vote eight times at once still counts once.

A poll without anyone signing up

The poll maker creates a one-question poll with up to 12 options and no account at all — not for you, not for voters. It returns a voting link and a live results link, and the poll is deleted after 90 days.

Moving from Mentimeter

Put the results page on the screen

Share the poll link with the room and display /results on the projector; it refreshes every few seconds as votes arrive.

Keep slides where they are

If the poll is part of a deck, link to it from a slide rather than embedding the deck in Votense.

Questions people ask

Is there a free Mentimeter alternative without participant limits?

Votense’s free plan does not cap participants per month; each poll accepts up to 100 responses. Mentimeter’s free plan allowed 50 participants a month when checked on 2026-10-03.

Can I show live poll results on a screen?

Yes. Every Votense poll has a results page at its address plus /results, which refreshes itself every few seconds while open.

When is Mentimeter the better choice?

When the poll lives inside a presentation — interactive slides, a presenter view, word clouds and audience Q&A.

Checked against the shipped product on 2026-10-03. The Votense limits above come from the same plan table the product enforces, not marketing rounding. What this page says about Mentimeter is limited to what they publish; their prices are a snapshot from their own pricing page on 2026-10-03, and where we were not sure of a feature we say to check their documentation rather than guess.
