Pub quiz questions and answers
A ten-question general knowledge round with the answers below — the kind of questions most tables get seven of. Instead of answer sheets and a marker, every team answers on a phone and the leaderboard is up the moment the round ends.
The quiz beside this text is live. Fill it in and submit it — it validates exactly as it would for a real respondent, and saves nothing.
No marking, no disputes
Answers are scored the moment they arrive, and the reveal shows how many tables picked each option — the bar chart settles arguments faster than the quizmaster can.
Typed answers that forgive case and accents
Typed answers ignore capitals, accents and punctuation, and a question can accept several spellings — “da Vinci” and “Leonardo” both count here.
No card required.

Live previewHow to use this template
4 steps in the editor. Nothing here needs a paid plan.
- Press “Use this template” and swap in your own questions for the rounds you have planned.
- To run it live, open the quiz and press Host live. Put the host screen on a projector: players go to votense.com/play on their phones, type the six-digit PIN and pick a nickname. You press Start; each question shows a countdown, reveals itself when time is up or everyone has answered, and a leaderboard follows.
- Playing in teams? Have each team join on one phone with the team name as its nickname — nicknames are unique within a game.
- Download the CSV at the end for every team’s points per question, if you keep a running total across the season.

What goes wrong with this quiz
Specific to this template, not general advice about quizzes.
Phones on the venue Wi-Fi
Each phone needs a connection for the whole game. If the venue Wi-Fi is weak, ask players to use mobile data; a player who drops out rejoins as the same player by reopening the page.
Speed scoring in a team game
Live scoring rewards speed, which favours the team with the fastest thumb. For a slower, conferring style, give every question the longest time limit.
Questions about this quiz
How many people can play at once?
Up to 50 players in one live game on the free plan (300 on Basic, 1,000 on Advanced), each on their own phone, with no account or app. Taken from a link instead of live, the limit is the plan’s response limit per quiz.
How is the score worked out?
In a live game a correct answer earns between 1,000 points (instant) and 500 points (at the buzzer), so speed matters; a wrong answer earns nothing. Taken from a link, every correct answer earns its full points. The server does the scoring — a player’s phone never decides it.
Can I run several rounds?
Make each round its own quiz and host them one after another, or put every round in one quiz of up to 100 questions. The CSV from each game has every team’s points per question.
