Trivia questions and answers, ready to play
Ten general knowledge questions with the answers below, mixing science, geography, art and everyday facts. Each has one clear answer that a room can agree on, so the argument is about the quiz rather than the facts. Use it as a warm-up, a team break or a short pub-style round.
The quiz beside this text is live. Fill it in and submit it — it validates exactly as it would for a real respondent, and saves nothing.
Typed answers that forgive spelling
The element question accepts “iron” in any capitalisation, so a player does not lose a point over a stray capital or a missing accent.
Speed points settled by the server
In a live game the fastest correct answer scores most. Time is taken when the answer reaches the server, so a fast phone does not change the order.
Answers hidden until the reveal
Phones learn whether they were right only when the big screen reveals the answer, so nobody can shout the answer out from their own result.
No card required.

What goes wrong with this quiz
Specific to this template, not general advice about quizzes.
Questions with a second right answer
Trivia arguments start with questions that have two defensible answers. Check each question against a reliable reference before you host, especially for dates, records and “largest” or “longest” claims that change with the measure.
Too little time for a long answer
Give a question with a long answer or several parts 30 seconds or more. A short timer rewards the fastest reader rather than the person who knows the answer.
Questions about this quiz
How many people can play at once?
Up to 50 players in one live game on the free plan (300 on Basic, 1,000 on Advanced), each on their own phone, with no account or app. Taken from a link instead of live, the limit is the plan’s response limit per quiz.
How is the score worked out?
In a live game a correct answer earns between 1,000 points (instant) and 500 points (at the buzzer), so speed matters; a wrong answer earns nothing. Taken from a link, every correct answer earns its full points. The server does the scoring — a player’s phone never decides it.
Can I change the questions and answers?
Yes. Every question, option and correct mark is editable, and you can add more questions. Replace any question that a room is likely to argue about, such as one with a disputed date or a second defensible answer.
